Home Flashing An Awning - SIPs House with Delta Vent SA
Putting up metal awnings? In this video, Matt Risinger, master builder, shows us how to flash for that metal awning. Risinger is on a construction site where there will be wood garage doors, and the architect designed a metal awning to go over the top of both of the doors to protect from sun and rain. The façade will be stucco and Risinger did want the awning bolts to pierce the stucco. Instead, by taking a piece of composite wood, placed a sealant around the wood, attached it and added Delta SA tape in shingle fashion to the wood. When the awning is attached," there is a mechanism to do it without affecting the stucco.
