One thing that helps Steve to regain control of the building (in terms of water, air, vapor, and thermal) is heading out to the job site and getting hands on with the builders in order to better understand the why and how behind building aspects so he can apply them to the drawings effectively and efficiently. This ensures that what he's asking for can actually be achieved when it comes time to build.
