We’ve received a lot of questions about what we’re doing in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and while we don’t know any more than anyone else, we can share our experience and plan.
First, it’s important to point out that, in terms of projects, things are still moving along for our construction business. Work is still being done, and we’ve yet to experience any impact.
One of our strong guiding principles is “be prepared,” and so, we’re doing everything we can to prepare for what’s to come. This may include anything from supply chain disruptions, to the need to care for children whose schools are closed or loved ones who become sick.
We may experience material and labor shortages as a result; that’s the reality. It is possible that we may have to shut down job sites at some point. But we are making contingency plans now, by communicating heavily with our suppliers, our subcontractors, our clients and our customers.
As citizens of a global community, we are also supporting measures to combat this crisis by following the guidelines of our local, state and federal leaders. This includes practicing social distancing and working virtually whenever possible, driving the flow of our business operations through advanced, cloud-based technologies.
None of us knows for certain how significant or long-term the impact will be. But we will face this challenge as we have so many others, drawing upon the strength of being part of a great country with tremendous resources. This team considers one another as extensions of our own families, and the same holds true for all those we have the privilege to serve.
We’re all in this together.
