HomeWatch this Before Buying A Gas Water Heater Tank
What should you look for to buy a better gas water heater tank? Matt Risinger shares a few quick tips to keep in mind when searching for your next water heater.First, go with a smaller tank than you have before. The average tank is a 50-gallon tank, but you might not need that much. In 2015, the regulations for efficiency changed. On the energy guide, it tells you both the annual energy cost and the first hour rating. In this video, you'll see a 40-gallon tank, which provides 64 gallons of hot water in the first hour, which is more than enough for a small household (1 to 3 people).Next, look for a metal drain. Also, go for the larger warranty, such as a six to eight-year warranty. The longer warranty implies a longer anode rod. Finally, have a plumber install a four-year extended warranty kit. The kit replaces the cold water inlet with another tube. This takes the six-year warranty to a 10-year warranty. Also, remember to drain your tank once a year.Check out the full video to compare the gas water heaters.
