Home Top 5 Dumbest Building Products
What are some building products we should avoid? In this video, Matt Risinger gives us five of the dumbest and most impractical building products we use every day. Many of which can't even stand up against water. The first dumb product we use foil faced cardboard sheathing which is used every day, mainly being paper based and not super resilient against water damage. Another dumb product pin-punched plastic house wraps, which are sensitive building materials that can't withstand the elements. Recessed tankless housing is also a problem, because you can't air seal them or keep water out. Paper-based flashings pose a problem on the ledges at the bottom of homes, and direct vent gas fireplaces create a huge air leak in the home, which means energy loss for you and easy entry for critters. Dive into this video for more of the commonly used items that are wildly inefficient.
