When Matt Risinger, master builder, was coming up as a student, he had no idea that there was a degree in construction and, as a result of that degree, the entry-level jobs that were available upon graduation. He says that the program gives him a wealth of information that he just never would have known. He scored an internship working at a wastewater facility. When asked about his future goals, he admits it's still up in the air, but his interest so far lies in residential construction.aTyler Emo oozes passion for the construction industry. He learned about the program his senior year of high school from a friend. As a freshman, Tyler isn't sure of his path yet and is totally open to finding one in the next few years of school. William Pugh, also a freshman, grew up in the construction industry with a dad that was a commercial contractor. Being a home builder is his goal. Grad student Arian Vaziri is working on her master's degree in construction management and already has a master's in architectural engineering. She's seriously thinking of coming back to school for her PhD. Finally, professor Ben Ashburn discusses what students are being taught in a degree program at Texas aM. The degree is a mixture of business classes including finance and accounting, construction classes including scheduling and estimating, also architecture and technology with building information management and finally civil engineering stuff with structures and soils.
