SharkBite fittings are ideal because it eliminates the need for glue or chemicals to connect pipes, connecting and creating an watertight seal with a simple push. They work with several materials like PVC and other widely used options. So what's the downside? Well they're rubber first of all, so the chlorine in our water can break it down quicker than we would like. Longevity might be an issue. On top of that, you need to make sure you aren't using these too many times because it wears away the lubricant you need to make a successful connection.
