Home Paper Flashing? - Builder 911 - Risinger Goes Rogue
Join Master Builder Matt Risinger as he provides an impromptu review of paper flashing used all over the South. Risinger discovered that this paper flashing is not reliable and he'll show us the right way to flash a stone or brick ledge. The paper-reinforced plastic is supposed to keep the water and air from reaching the base of the house, but it doesn't work. It even dissolves after a few years of use. Instead, you should be using 12-inche wide piece of peel-and-stick that protects the raw edge, keeps bugs, out and deters air entry. Filmed without his normal professional camera crew at an undisclosed location somewhere down South, Risinger goes rogue to reveal the consequences of using an inferior product. Watch the video for full details!
