HomeOpening up a space using a Flush Steel Beam - Risinger Goes Rogue
Creating open area without the need for support posts everywhere is becoming easier to do. In this video, Matt Risinger, master builder, gives us a quick look at a garage apartment and how steel can be used to open up a space. With a 500 sq. ft. apartment above the garage, they wanted the garage to be free of and obstacles. They put in a giant steel beam, two posts on either side that are welded down, all that needed to be done was to use 2" x 10"s, bolt them together, and it's easy once that steel beam is in to finish the space. And below, in the garage, there are no poles for car doors to hit, or any impediment at all.
