Matt Risinger discusses some of his best practice HVAC techniques that he uses for every house he builds. Having an HVAC in the attic offers an amazing opportunity to keep the house entirely in a conditioned space, basically because there is an opportunity to utilize insulation to keep it all in one system. No air escaping.
The Mitsubishi HVAC system is connected to a separate compressor outside, which allows for refrigerant flow, a system designed in the 70s. This system is used all over the world because of its energy-efficient design. The system can run anywhere between 15%-100% capacity, meaning on a very hot day it can run differently than a cooler one. Risinger warns that one of the most important things to remember is getting a merv 11 filtrations system for that return end.
He also provides some helpful tips for the vents themselves, advising that rigid metal is best for the base and flex is better along the ends for vibration. Tune into the full video to learn more helpful tips like these!
