Matt Risinger takes us through a contemporary Austin home on the Colorado river to show us its modern base trim, pencil-lined cabinetry trim, and trim on doors and casing. The bottom of the walls has a flush base with the ground, creating a neat and clean look. However, typical trim is practical in that it protects the drywall from everyday scratches and dings, such as when you're vacuuming or using the Swiffer. It looks good, but it comes along with plenty of drawbacks. The pricing is higher, it requires a lot more finished carpentry, more painting, and more steps to make it happen.
