Home James Bond Door + The Joy of Building - Jim LaRue Interview
Installing a James Bond hidden door is amazing fun. In this video, Matt Risinger talks James Bond hidden doors with Jim LaRue, the architect on the project. Risinger interviews LaRue, asking how they came up with the James Bond door concept and also putting a master behind one. The room is quiet, private and away from the street. The job involved paneling, aluminum trim and a flat-screen-TV on the wall. The room is at the end of the building and the master is hidden behind this wall. It's a fun space. At parties, people love the room, they want to hit the button and walk in. Whether you're building new construction or designing a house, it's fun to put something in that has the element of surprise. It makes a huge difference to build a house that people want to come to.
