Exterior rigid foam is a hot topic, and Matt Risinger has all the answers you've been searching for. In this video, the plan is to wrap this entire house in rigid foam. The product he's using is RMax ¾-in thick foam with a reflective face creating a radiant barrier. The issue that may arise with this is that the foam will end up flush with the exterior windows. He explains about a flashing detail so that you can add to the depth of the window in order to create depth in the build siding against it. Here we're talking HardiePlank, a fiber-cement siding option that comes in long strips like wood lap. This may not be waterproof, but the Dupont drain wrap system behind it will let the water out.
