Energy recovery ventilation (ERV) is the energy recovery process of exchanging the energy contained in normally exhausted building or space air and using it to precondition the incoming outdoor ventilation air in HVAC systems. There are two ports, one that brings fresh air in and one that is exhausting stale air from the home, allowing for better air quality.
