Energy recovery ventilation (ERV) is the energy recovery process of exchanging the energy contained in normally exhausted building or space air and using it to precondition the incoming outdoor ventilation air in HVAC systems. Matt Risinger takes us through the process of installing one, and also breaks down some of the unique and useful features the system has. This specific ERV is panasonic's Intelli-Balance 100 ERV, with excellent filtration, efficient and quiet motors, and easily accessible controls. There are two ports, one that brings fresh air in and one that is exhausting stale air from the home, allowing for better air quality.
