HomeHow to Install A Window With DELTA Vent SA House Wrap
Installation of a DELTA Vent SA peel and stick house wrap. Master builder, Matt Risinger, shows the steps necessary to correctly install the permeable house wrap. The wrap is vapor permeable, which can be either 50 or 31 perms based on the ASTM test method used. Unlike most peel and stick products, this allows vapor to drive through it. Features include the fact that it is peel and stick on the back, but also is peel and stick on the front. Risinger calls the material "ingenious" as it can be used in not only a water-tight house but an air-tight house.Steps include rolling a Delta Adhesive LVC primer on the house, then peel off the sticky backer which means sticky on sticky and the house wraps beautifully. Once the house wrap is on, windows are cut out cutting at 45 degrees on all sides. The cuts will flap into the window space and add the sills so that water comes out because of the angle of the sill. Time to add the Delta flashing, which is also peel and stick flashing on the sill and Delta Multi Band is all that's needed for the windows, making the seal air tight. The final step is making sure the top of the window is both water and air tight, using the Delta Multi Band wrap. Check out the video to see window-installation tips.
