How do you choose a weather-resistant barrier? First consider the type of architecture at hand. In this video, Matt Risinger, master builder shows us an ultra-modern house with concrete walls, walls of glass and very short or no overhang. When overhang is absent, the walls will experience the elements. They won't have protection from that rain. For this house, Risinger used Polyguard Aluma Flash, a 40-mil peel-and-stick product that fully adheres to the walls. It also adds a good air barrier. The product is also thick and although it's not self-healing, it is self-gasketing. The foil facing on the product will provide a radiant barrier and a long exposure rating of an entire year. Check out the video and see how the product looks attached to the ultra-modern home.
