Matt Risinger visits Haiti to help build houses in the country, as well as see how homes are built there. Risinger explores the durable and strong buildings that are mainly made on cinder blocks and equipped with metal roofing. The barren land, due to tree removal, causes a large amount of mud and slides. Watch as the Risigner family visits centers to help feed and clothe many people, with the help of companies like Toms shoes. Risnger also explore the infrastructure which consists of utility poles made of concrete. They also explore partially built homes made of cinder block and help build homes with Mission of Hope. As of a result of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the country has opted to rely more on rebar in the cinder block for stability. All concreate is mixed on site, as they manually shift sand. For the roof rafters they use 2X4s. Risinger also visits a hardware store and construction supply house in Haiti, which is stocked with many of the supplies the locals use for construction.
