Home Habitat for Humanity ReStore
There are 900 Habitat for Humanity ReStores nationwide and they are a treasure trove to a builder and a do-it-yourselfer. Not only do they sell donated materials, they also offer wholesale items at a really good price. Most of the items are listed at 50% off of retail, a huge savings. In this video, Matt Risinger, master builder, takes us through a tour of a ReStore. According to Risinger, two million pounds of building materials has gone to stores, rather than landfills. And, it is important to know that, for a charity, the percentage given to the target people is high, at 87%. If you have materials leftover and they're just taking room in your warehouse or garage, bring them in. For large items, Habitat ReStores also pick up donations. And you'll walk away with a tax-deductible receipt. In this case, everyone wins.
