There are some steps in building that tend to be missed and a base wall flashing is one of them. In this video, Matt Risinger, master builder, discusses the addition of a 16" base wall flashing. Installation is using the wet-set method with a tube of Fast Flash. Multiple beads are added (see video for placement). After the beads are situated, a termination bar is attached mechanically to the building and a final bead of Fast Flash is placed on top of the bar. The result is that water running down the building will find its way to the flashing and be guided away from the building, instead of doing damage.Check out the video. It's a step you're going to want to remember.
