Matt gives an update on the Real Remodel.
Ceiling heights were posing a challenge and he needed taller ceilings, but in addition to that he had some strange slab heights that made it difficult to add the 1.5" insulation.
The trusses were covered in rat feces and very short so duct work would have been difficult to run, as well.
What's the solution? Eliminate those areas and re-frame the house with some straight walls.
What Matt realized is that it may have been cheaper to just demo the house from the beginning, but he's going to be left with a house that really fits into the 70's-feel neighborhood, just a few miles outside of Austin.

Steve Bazcek is on-site with Matt to explain why this was a good idea.
