Wade is on site with Lou Mathews from A&L Mechanical talking about the various HVAC systems used in a project they've been working on. They're down in the basement of the build, where a mid-project change cuased the teams to come up with a creative soltuion when the owners decided to finish the basement. This created a challenge, changing the HVAC approach. They had to make sure there were no ducts below the floor system, and were in a bind because there wasn't much height to work.
Here's what they did:
The've used a conventional system in the attic to ceiling feed the second floor. The Unico system is a high velocity system with 2-inch air ducts that cansnake into tight areas, along with three Mitsibushi Electric console units, heat pumps.
With the Unico, you can pick and choose whether you use it for heating, cooling, or both, and it's sleek floor console unit comes equipped with multi-zoned outsid connections.
Take a peek inside the HVAC approach the teams took on this house. Watch now.
