Matt Risinger shows us how to minimize your trash pile and maximize your tax benefits. Risinger and his team are prepping to remodel a house that was built about 15 years ago. They were able to easily pull out a solid handful of interior doors and save the jams, some sinks and cabinets, and electric water heater, and have filled about half a dumpster so far, most of which will be recycled. Many of the doors will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. He also shows why Pink Batt insulation is not a great way to insulate your house. Fiberglass insulation is dependent on a good installer, and this house, unfortunately, was not graced with successful installation. The installer did not bother to insulate some corners, a task that isn't super easy and was likely skipped. Perhaps the worst part of fiberglass insulation is putting it in areas where there are pipes. Again, installing around piping is not an easy duty. Risinger's team will either do a total fill blown-in product or a spray foam, which does a great job of filling in the gaps.
