Wade is back at Jutras talking to Dave Payette. One big question he gets all the time is: What is the difference between a semi-custom and custom cabinetry.
According to Dave, it boils down to two primary categories: fewer design constraints and quality of contruction.
When it comes to custom cabinets you're working with fewer design constraints so any custom dimensions can be accomodated, there will be no fillers needed, and you can take advantage of any room characteristics like an odd window. There's also wood species to consider and unique inserts that allow for more storage and add to the quality of construction.
Once you get to the point on semi-custom cabinets where you're starting to upgrade things, it's time to go custom because the price-point is not that far off. Custom cabinets add a lot of value for homeowners and are a nice touch during the building process.
