Home Copper vs Pex vs SharkBite - Freeze Testing
The theory goes that a copper pipe will split if it freezes and a PEX pipe will expand, but is this true? Matt Risinger discusses the different effects frozen water can have on our most commonly used pipes, and tests each out for you to see. He fills up copper, PEX, and Sharkbite pipes with water, and then freezes them for 20 hours.
