Home Construction Temporary Power Box
Join Master Builder Matt Risinger as he solves the issue of jobsite power with Tim Hill, Project Manager. Working at a new construction site requires builders and remodelers to have power for their tools, compressors, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and heaters. How does this expansive power need get fulfilled? In addition to the temporary power drop near the street, the site needs power that is made safe by ground fault circuit interruption on the inside the structure. A weatherproof and portable temporary power box is construction right at the site, with 100-amp sub panels feeding the corresponding circuit. This is fed by a 60-amp breaker at the main power outside the site. The sub-panel is fed with #4 aluminum SER service wire in Carflex conduit. The temporary power is portable," too. It is built on a sheet of plywood covered with Tyvec flex wrap and fastened to an aluminum hand truck. The power source can follow you from room to room as needed. Another great touch - a USB charger and receptacle to charge your workers phones! Check out the video for more information.
