In this video, visit Master Builder Matt Risinger's jobsite to see the 1940's their remodel in partnership with Hugh Jefferson Randolph Architects. It has fairly traditional Marvin windows in the front, but you will see very modern commercial aluminum windows in the rear. These commercial windows are non-flanged and are very tough to weatherproof. In this video, Risinger will show you how to install these windows using best practices. In the back of the house, the commercial storefront windows, which are particularly challenging to make them weathertight. You don't want to rely on caulk as a weather barrier, so you need to take additional steps to weatherproof before the window installation. They decided to use Dupont FlexWrap to form a sill pan and Straightflash VF to weatherproof the windows.Check out the full video to see how it's done.
