Home Can we blow off these PEX fittings? Sharkbite vs Viega vs Uponor
Watch the ultimate faceoff in the plumbing universe. Matt Risinger and Jordan Smith do some PEX testing, attempting to see how much pressure each can hold before popping off. So, how much can each really withstand before popping off? They tested 5 PEX fittings Sharkbite Push to Connect, Sharkbite Clamp, Sharkbite Crimp, Viega Crimp, and Uponer ProPEX. They applied the same amount of pressure to each PEX fitting at once, beginning at 0 all the way up to 14,000. The ultimate fitting race to the finish line—which can withstand the pressure the longest? The first to go was the Sharkbite Push to Connect, but surprisingly enough the PEX A and PEX B pipes themselves busted on the remaining four," not the fittings. Watch the full video to see this crazy PEX fitting race!
