Building a wood staircase with exposed stringers is the work of only the most experienced carpenter. Join Master Builder Matt Risinger as he shows us just how a carpenter can build a pine staircase with reclaimed wood. The long leaf pine used here comes from an old 1800s built warehouse in Houston, Texas. Watch as Risinger highlights the craftmanship needed to create the staircase in this 1920's remodeled home. From the long leaf tread and poplar risers, to the plug detailing, the staircase is a work of art. Check out the video to watch the details of this masterpiece come together. It's filmed two weeks apart to showcase the initial work being done, and the staircase at about 80% completion. Architecture by Rick and Cindy Black and construction by Risinger Homes.
