Home Building a conditioned attic

Have you ever been in an attic that you consider "nice?" In this video, master builder Matt Risinger takes us on a tour of an attic in an Austin, TX home to witness the magic of spray foam insulation. Risinger reveals a conditioned attic space where he's used spray foam insulation, instead of your standard "pink stuff" that insulates most other homes in America.By creating an insulated, conditioned attic in a hot and humid climate like Austin, you can decrease the cost and energy required to cool your home. He explains the many benefits of using spray foam, such as its versatility. During the attic tour, he demonstrates how the spray foam covers the entirety of the space, keeping the temperature no more than five to eight degrees above the rest of the house. Even more, Risinger reveals that by maintaining a lower temperature in the attic, you can get away with a smaller A/C unit overall.
