Matt chats with Marc Vesta, Owner of Jersey Boy Construction at the Builders First Source Mar Vista Showroom in Los Angeles. Marc was recently at this showroom with clients working on a remodel project when he found them changing their minds on original specs. In the pre-construction process they chose vinyl sliders due to budget constraints, but when Marc took them to the showroom and showed them exactly what they’d be getting for the price, they weren’t pleased. While the cost seemed right, once they made their way to the All-Weather section, things changed.
Moral of the story: it’s incredibly valuable to be able to bring your designers, architects, and clients into a showroom to see and feel different manufacturer products at different price points. While builders may be educated on the differences, clients sometimes are not.
