Home Best Tools and Tips for Hurricane Flood Clean-up
Matt Risinger talks about his picks for the best tools you need after a flood for safe and effective cleanup. He talks the order of how to proceed, and how to tackle different types of materials and surfaces strategically. He goes over some of his favorite tools to use when doing this kind of work, like cutting tools for insulation, crowbars, and a Dremel Multitool with a half moon shaped blade that can cut wood, cabinets, and nails. Personal protection is also really important. Not only can flood waters contain sewage, but working around mold, bleach and in older houses, possibly asbestos and/or lead-based paint, you need proper protection. He talks respirators, masks, gloves and other PPE, as well as best practices on how to safely prepare the space once it's cleaned out, with bleach and mold protection sprays. Here's a resource list of some of Risinger's favorites, along with a couple of links about general flood cleanupHUD Guide to Disaster Cleanup - http://bit.ly/2iSz7kpFAQ Flood Cleanup LSU - http://bit.ly/2em34UZ Stanley Clawbar - http://amzn.to/2wnTuHxIrwin 50-Pack Bi-Metal Blue Knife Blades - http://amzn.to/2wn7scJMilwaukee Utility Knife - http://amzn.to/2wYxaYuMilwaukee Fixed Bade Knife http://amzn.to/2xutuPGNipper http://amzn.to/2f3jt4DKlein Screwdriver 11n1 http://amzn.to/2wYZE4zMakita 18v Drill & Driver Set http://amzn.to/2wY2dluSkil 4 ½" Wet or Dry Turbo Diamond Circular Saw Blade - http://amzn.to/2xv5uvQPorter-Cable 4 1/2" 7 am angle grinder - http://amzn.to/2wYOlI2Dremel MM45 - http://amzn.to/2wXuSHsDremel Half Moon MM452 Blade - http://amzn.to/2wnyHniMilwaukee Super Sawzaw - http://amzn.to/2wn9DNrClorox (Best Deal) - http://amzn.to/2wYUPbcConcrobium Mold Control 1 Gallon - http://amzn.to/2wngark2 Gallon Sprayer http://amzn.to/2wnBVr0Rigid Shop-vac - http://amzn.to/2wWVAQvTrue Temper 6 CF Poly Wheelbarrow - http://amzn.to/2wnovv5Scoop Shovel D-Handle http://amzn.to/2w5UaGjFloor Squeegee http://amzn.to/2wVp4RpRip Claw Hammer - http://amzn.to/2xvie5NIrwin Strait-Line Classic Chalk Reel - http://amzn.to/2wYe2s83M Virtua Safety Glasses - http://amzn.to/2xvamkTP-100 Respirator - http://amzn.to/2wnBD3pN-95 Mask 10Pack http://amzn.to/2wYN9prCut-Resistant Gloves http://amzn.to/2y38ugc70 Pint Dehumidifier http://amzn.to/2evCPinBox Fan http://amzn.to/2evHCjQ
