Home Basement Waterproofing - Fluid Applied Membrane
Is water leakage one of your biggest concerns when building a basement? In this video, Matt Risinger visits one of fellow builder, Brian Long's, job sites to review a basement waterproofing system by PolyWall, a liquid fluid applied membrane. You will learn more about the HomeStretch PolyWall and how to apply it. Risinger asks Dave Leslie, the PolyWall Tech Director, to explain more about how the HomeStretch liquid works. It's new to residential builds, but it has been around in commercial building for more than 20 years. You may remember tar-based waterproofing, which is essentially asphalt mixed with water. It works, but it doesn't work nearly as well as this HomeStretch PolyWall. This material is an SBR, or styrene butadiene rubber, which is specifically designed for waterproofing; you might think it's just like the rubber liner in a truck bed.In addition to being extremely effective, it's easy to apply. Check out the full video to learn more about how to apply the HomeStretch Polywall.
