Home AIR BARRIER

You are either inside or outside. There is no grey area in airtightness, you are either Inside or Outside. So what happens when a single story roof frame runs up against a second floor wall? Well, let’s get BIG RED and find out. We travel out to see Farley’s Passive House Build out at Marthas Vineyard and check out this very detail. Air Barrier Continuity is KEY to airtightness success. We break out some drawings and a detail and we look at the interface of the first floor ceiling as it meets the second floor wall. It’s a very simple detail, but it is very commonly overlooked…Well, BIG RED didn’t miss it!!! Joins us as we walk and talk thru this air barrier detail…..Enjoy my friends
