Matt Risinger introduces an interesting and unique gas furnace install. This is a gas furnace, that is 95% efficient which is basically unheard of. First off, what does it mean to be 95% efficient? Is it efficiency in cost when compared to money saved or energy efficiency. Turns out its actually both. For instance, every dollar you spend on this unit, you are getting 95 cents back in heat. Most furnaces are usually resting at about 80% or less efficiency, meaning that this particular unit is functioning at 20% more efficiency than others. This system has two heat exchangers, not one, to cool the hot air more efficiently. All of this functions through one penetration, so this one plastic tube is responsible for bringing in filterer air and letting out exhaust air. It's actually so efficient that the penetration is plastic, meaning the air is cooled so much it won't melt it.
