Home 4 Great Things About Closed Cell Spray Foam (Plus 2 Tips for Use)

Wade's been using closed cell spray foam in this application for years now and he's here to tell us why he loves it. In this video he's finishing up a basement foundation and is here to share four of his favorite things about using closed cell spray foam, plus two of his best tips.

His top four favorite things about using closed cell spray foam are:

1. It's a monolithic layer (it's continuous, so no seams) 2. Excellent vapor retarder. 3.  Excellent moisture barrier. 4. It has a perm rating of less than one.

He's also got some tips for use.

According to Wade, it's best to apply the foam to crushed stone, NOT gravel. Also, make sure to cut control joints to minimize cracking. What else? Watch Wade to find out more.
